Small Craft Operator Program

The Small Craft Operator Program is the Canadian Cadet Organization's training program for qualifying persons to operate and instruct small craft in support of on-water training activities.

There are 5 SCOP levels. They are:

SCOP Level 1

Cadets will obtain their Pleasure Craft Operator Card.

SCOP Level 2

Cadets will earn their Radio Operator's Certificate - Marine with Digital Selective Calling endorsement.

SCOP Level 3

The training resulting from this module will develop in the student the knowledge and skills required to obtain the Powerboat Operator qualification.

Cadets will earn their Safety Boat Operator certificate by completing the Boat Rescue course.

104 Brilliant is one of only a few units that have the staff to conduct this unique training.

SCOP Level 5

Cadets will become certified to command a Whaler training vessel. This is an advanced certification and is usually completed during particular summer training courses.
The Small Craft Operator Programs are managed by the Corps' Training Officer. Cadets will be scheduled for training based on their current level. However; cadets may conduct their own self study for certain courses offered online through our Online Learning Portal.
